Safes
Safes have many different names including lockbox. They have also been known to be called strongbox or kist. They are usually cubed shaped and hollow with only one hinged door on the front. Typically safes are made out of solid metal such as steel and come with a few specifications such as being burglar resistant and has some type of lock, usually combination locks are the most typically used locks.
Another good feature about safes are that they are fire resistant so that in the event of a fire the contents are stored safely and are not compromised during a fire.
There are also a wide variety of classifications for safes such as the class 125 which can sustain an internal temperature of 52C and at 149C compact discs start to crystalise.
The class 350 can sustain 177C internally and paper can ignite at 232C. So this type of safe is sufficient to store paper in. The highest class is the TXTL – 60 which can high explosions from such chemicals as nitroglycerin. These type of safes are considered to be one of the strongest types available.
